The Wellness Programs (WP) Department ensures the coordination of health and wellness services and initiatives throughout the District. Its purpose is to lead the District's efforts aligned with the District's Blueprint for Wellness and strategic plan, and coordinate with all other divisions to facilitate access to basic health, mental health, and wellness services for students and families. In addition, the Wellness Programs Department helps to assess gaps in services and programs, establish, and strengthen internal and external partnerships to improve wellness among all stakeholders in an effort to achieve 100% graduation.

Our Student and Family Navigator

Here at Canoga Park Elementary, we have our own Student and Family Resource Navigator to help provide services and activities to meet the needs for our students, families, and community.

Healthy Start

About

Healthy Start strives to alleviate barriers to learning by linking or connecting student, family, and community needs to resources. Giving special consideration to low-income students, English Language  Learners, and Foster youth.

Goals
  • Increase student achievement 100% rate of graduation.
  • Increase collaboration with community agencies.
  • Increase Community and parent participation.
Objective

To enhance the physical, emotional and mental well-being of students so they can attain academic success.

Services

Health Start provides linkages to comprehensive school-and community-based integrated services and activities which address specific needs in the areas of academics, medical, mental health, and basic needs supports. It provide assistance to apply for health insurance enrollment such as Medi-Cal and Covered California.
